The surviving family deserves answers and justice for Mr. Gardner’s unjust death
This is a terrible crash that was entirely preventable. The driver of the Mack Truck, based on the reported facts, is entirely responsible for the crash and Mr. Gardner’s resulting death. Such actions cannot go unanswered, and the surviving family deserves justice under the law.
Unfortunately, this is only one of many accidents our firm has investigated in Kentucky involving young men killed by 18-wheeler trucks. These crashes are occurring with alarming frequency and highlight the important role truck drivers play in the safety of other motorists. Truck drivers must obey the law. They cannot be distracted, they cannot drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they cannot speed or take reckless actions, they cannot drive left-of-center, they must wait for other drivers, and they must remain alert and attentive at all times. In short, truckers must exercise the care in driving that society expects. Failure to do so leads to devastating crashes and the loss of innocent lives. The exact actions of the truck driver must be determined to ensure the Gardner family receives all the answers they deserve. Was the trucker tired, distracted, high, or something else? Did the employer allow its drivers to operate without regard for others’ safety? Answers to these questions will help trained attorneys hold all wrongdoers fully responsible for the harm caused in this crash.
The Gardner family has lost a faultless child. Mr. Gardner’s life was taken unexpectedly and unjustly. The driver of the Mack Truck and his employing company will need to account for their actions in a court of law. Holding the trucking company and trucker responsible for this fatal accident helps prevent other accidents like this from happening in the future. Trucking companies must understand the important role they play in employing safe drivers. Drivers must understand the important role they play in the safety of all other motorists. And undoubtedly, the surviving family deserves the compensation they need to deal with the unexpected loss of a loved one.
I extend my deepest condolences to the Gardner family during this difficult time of grief and pray that they may have the strength to endure the difficult time ahead.
