Fiery Rollover Crash in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Leaves One Person in Critical Condition

Maple Ridge, British Columbia — A Ford F250 pickup and a Honda CRV collided, resulting in a fiery rollover accident. The incident happened on 128th Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Reports state the driver of the Ford F250 became trapped inside the vehicle, which caught fire.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where they extinguished the flames and extricated the driver pinned inside the overturned pickup.

Emergency responders transported two individuals to the hospital as a result of the crash, where one is listed in critical condition.

No further details have been provided.

Thoughts on Ford Truck Rollovers

Crushed roofs, trucks, and rollover accidents have, unfortunately, become commonplace on our roadways. Photos of this incident in Maple Ridge show the truck’s roof was crushed — this is a known issue with these trucks and a disturbing one since the crushed roof may have increased the severity of the injuries here. When put to the test, airbags should deploy, seatbelts should be restrained, and roofs should stay intact. Our vehicles should protect us from severe injuries or death — not cause them.

If the injuries here were caused by the crushed roof, the manufacturer could be held responsible for its defective product that failed to function properly and, consequently, caused damaging harm to the truck’s occupants.

Trained professionals will need to conduct an investigation and determine the cause of the accident and the cause of the injury in this terrible crash.
