Man Dies in Accident with Publix Semi-Truck Accident on U.S. 192 in St. Cloud, Florida

St. Cloud, Florida — A man lost his life when his car collided with a Publix semitrailer, making a U-turn on U.S. 192 in Osceola County. The incident happened when a semitrailer was blocking the path of the westbound lanes and positioned in the path of a 2022 Honda Accord. The front of the Honda struck the side of the semi, ultimately going underneath the trailer.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semitrailer driver did not sustain any injuries.

No further details have been provided.

Thoughts on Semi-Trucks That Block Visibility

No one has a right to place someone in harm’s way. Sadly, the semi-truck obstructed the visibility of the Honda driver and created a deadly situation. Truck drivers have a duty to drive with vigilance and not to block traffic. Truckers should be held accountable when they fail to adhere to safe driving practices and their actions cause severe injuries or harm.

In addition, trained professionals should investigate what caused the Honda driver’s deadly injuries. From the images, the car went underneath the trailer. This is known as an underride accident and is very dangerous and deadly.

Underride accidents happen when trucks lack safety bars, allowing vehicles to slide underneath the trailer’s body easily. Truck manufacturers may be held accountable when the absence of safety features causes serious injuries or deaths.

A thorough investigation should determine all wrongdoers in this terrible collision. May the facts and truth begin to come out so the family of the deceased can get the answers they deserve.
