One Dead Two suffer major Injuries in a Rollover Accident on Highway 99 in Bakersfield, California

Bakersfield, California – One woman lost her life, and two people suffered major injuries in a rollover crash Sunday afternoon. The accident happened near Highway 99 just after 2:30 p.m.

According to preliminary findings, a man operating a 2004 Ford was traveling southbound on Highway 99 when he lost control of his vehicle. The Ford veered off the roadway, collided with a signpost, and overturned.

A female occupant was declared deceased at the scene. Two occupants (including the driver) sustained significant injuries.

Additional details have not been provided.

Thoughts on Rollover Accidents

In rollover crashes where someone dies or is seriously injured, it is critical to determine whether or not the vehicle provided the passengers with adequate protection.

This is because manufacturers are legally obligated to make cars that protect people. This means a vehicle, when put to the test, should have airbags that deploy, seatbelts that restrain, and roofs that don’t crush. When a vehicle has safety features that fail to work correctly, people are injured when they shouldn’t be.

Unfortunately, Expeditions and Excursions have had serious problems with their safety features working properly.  This has resulted in countless people suffering serious injury or death when they should have been able to walk away from the crash.

If an investigation finds that the Ford company added to or caused these occupants’ death and serious injuries, Ford must be held accountable for its negligence.
