Semi-Truck Runs Stop Sign Causing Accident that Seriously Injures Two on State Route 15 in Madison Township, Ohio

Madison Township, Ohio –  An accident between two semi-trucks has left both drivers with serious injuries. The accident happened at approximately 8:18 a.m. at the north junction of US Route 20A and State Route 15 in Madison Township.

The incident unfolded when a 2015 Volvo semi-truck heading eastbound failed to stop at a stop sign at SR 15. As he entered the intersection, he was struck by a 2019 Chevrolet 4500 semi-truck traveling northbound on SR 15.

The collision caused one semi-truck to veer off the road, crash into an electrical pole, and overturn. The driver had to be extricated by emergency responders.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Thoughts on Truck Accidents Caused by Failure to Stop

Whether due to distraction, disregard, or speeding past the limits, large trucks continue to cause accidents by ignoring basic safety traffic rules like failing to stop. Semi-trucks cannot ignore road signs and not be held responsible. Trained professionals must investigate this accident to determine what caused the truck to ignore the stop sign and ensure all parties responsible for this crash are held accountable.

A thorough investigation will reveal if the trucking company also shares the blame for this accident. Trucking companies must place safe drivers on the roadways for the safety of all motorists. They need to provide their drivers with traffic law safety training,  vet their drivers for repeated traffic violations, and maintain a company culture where safety comes before profits. When truck companies take a lighthearted approach to safety, their negligent actions lead to careless drivers and preventable crashes happen.

The family here deserves answers, and all wrongdoers need to be held accountable.
