Wenpeng Zhou and Mengxue Li Died in a Large Truck Accident on US-62 in Muskogee County, Boynton, Oklahoma

Boynton, Oklahoma – A man and woman lost their lives after their Ford Edge collided with a 2021 International Dollar General truck.

The incident took place at the intersection of US-62 and OK-72, where the International Dollar General truck was traveling south while the Ford Edge was heading eastbound on US-62. The Ford Edge failed to stop at the stop sign, resulting in a collision with the truck.

The driver of the Ford Edge, Wenpeng Zhou, lost his life at the scene. The passenger, Mengxue Li, also succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Zhou and Li were pinned inside their vehicle for approximately three hours.

The truck driver was in stable condition.

Thoughts on Failure to Stop Accidents

Whenever people die in a collision, the surviving family deserves answers as to what happened to cause the crash and whether the accident could have been prevented. While the reports indicate the deceased failed to stop at a stop sign, there may be more to the story than what is reported. Trained professionals need to investigate this accident to determine all the factors that led to the crash.

For one, reports suggest that the Ford failed to stop. If this is true, why did this happen? Ford vehicles should have crash avoidance technology to prevent these types of accidents from happening. Did that technology fail to work here?

Also, did the truck have the ability to avoid the crash but failed to do so due to distraction or something else?
