Thoughts on Dump Truck Collision with Pickup truck
Accidents like this one can be complex, and there is often more to the story than meets the eye. We do not have enough details to draw any conclusions, but insight into what the drivers were doing moments before the collision will help determine if there was any wrongdoing on the part of the truck driver. Could the truck driver have prevented this accident but was speeding? Distracted? We have handled cases where dashcam footage shows drivers had the opportunity to avoid an accident from occurring but were too busy looking at their phones. In one case specific, the truck driver simply needed to make a slight turn to the right to avoid missing a vehicle the pulled out in front of his truck, but since he was distracted, he turned left at the last moment and crashed directly into the other motorist. Actions like these can cause serious injuries or deaths in moments where seconds count.
It is too early to determine what happened; however, whenever people lose their lives, the families of the victims deserve to know all the factors that led to the accident. If any wrongdoing is discovered, all wrongdoers must be held accountable. Justice is the least we can give to the victims and their families.
