At Least 8 People Dead and Dozens Injured in 168-Vehicle Pileup on I-55 in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana

St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana –  Eight people have died, and dozens more injured after “super fog” caused limited visibility on I-55 in St. John the Baptist Parish, just outside New Orleans.

Reports indicate one vehicle veered into the water, and first responders had to extract the driver to safety while a tanker truck carrying hazardous liquid necessitated an urgent offloading operation. Another section of the crash site was engulfed in flames.

Over 25 people were transported to the hospital with injuries spanning from minor to critical.
