Joshua Asher Seriously Injured in Rollover Accident Due to Tire Blowout in Holt County, Corning, Missouri

Corning, Missouri – A 2003 Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling northbound on I-29, one mile south of Corning when the front passenger tire experienced a blowout.

The tire blowout caused the semi-truck to veer off the east side of the roadway, down an embankment, and into a field before coming to a rest on the driver’s side.

The truck driver, Joshua Asher, sustained serious injuries.

Thoughts on Tire Blowout Accidents

Unfortunately, we are seeing an increasing number of steer-axle tires fail on semi-trucks just like this one. This is leaving truckers with serious injuries, mounting medical bills, and lifelong pain and suffering. When a manufacturer produces a tire that fails because of structural flaws or defects, the trucker may have a right to hold the manufacturer responsible for all harm suffered in the crash.

To determine if a tire is defective, the tire needs to be inspected by trained professionals. Our firm has handled these cases for three decades. Lately, we have noticed a pattern.  The same few tires produced by the same few manufacturers are causing these crashes.  This is unacceptable.

We believe there are several tires that need to be removed from our roadways to protect truckers and the motoring public from accidents such as this one. We are doing all we can to raise awareness of this issue and help those injured in these crashes recover fair and just compensation under the law.

Truckers spend thousands of hours a year driving long stretches of roads on our nation’s interstates. Truck drivers deserve peace of mind and comfort in knowing their trucks are optimized for safety in their homes away from home. Mr. Asher was not provided that here. I hope Mr. Asher makes a swift recovery and receives the help he deserves.
