Thoughts on Fatal Semi-truck Accidents
When someone loses their life in an accident, their family is owed answers. Answers to what happened. Answers to who’s responsible. And answers to whether or not this accident was preventable. According to reports, the box truck struck the Ford Escape Ms. Fitts was driving. Why did the box truck crash into Ms. Fitts’ vehicle? Was the driver distracted? Speeding? Impaired? Answers will lead to more questions like the trucking company’s role in this tragic accident.
Can the trucking company ensure they provide their drivers with sufficient safety training? Do they vet their drivers for repeated traffic violations and red flags placed on them? Or do they ignore warning signs and keep unsafe drivers on the road? If trucking companies practice negligent actions when it comes to their employees, and their drivers cause serious injuries or deaths on the roadways, the company can be held liable for their negligent actions.
Since we do not have all the details regarding this accident, we must wait for all the facts to come out before we reach any conclusions. Trained professionals will need to conduct an independent investigation to make sure the victim’s family receives the answers they deserve, and all wrongdoers are held accountable.
