Semi-truck Driver Falls Asleep, Causing a Four Semi-truck Accident and Injuries on I-75, Madison, Kentucky

Madison County, Kentucky  – Four semi-trucks collided and injured two people. This accident happened on southbound I-75 in Madison County on Tuesday at approximately 2 a.m.

According to early reports, a semi-truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and collided with another semi-truck parked on the interstate’s shoulder. This caused a chain reaction. The parked semi slammed into a third parked semi, which caused that semi to hit a fourth semi.

Two individuals were hurt in the collision.

Thoughts on Semi-Truck Crashes

All parties at fault have to share liability when a serious accident happens. In this accident, we know falling asleep behind the wheel is never okay. It’s easy to determine who is at fault there. However, the law also wants to know if the other drivers created a dangerous condition that increased the likelihood of the crash.

For instance, were the trucks parked as required by FMCSA regulations? Did employers require drivers to drive beyond legal limits? Did the vehicles involved provide sufficient protection?

Following a crash of this magnitude, it will be important to determine all factors that contributed to the crash to ensure all injured parties receive whatever justice they may be entitled to.

I am confident that no trucker injured here intended for anyone to get hurt. The least the law can do is help all those who were injured receive whatever help they are entitled to as they begin rebuilding their lives after this serious crash.
