Thoughts on Tire Blowout Crashes

We have handled hundreds of tire failure cases over the last three decades. Many of our clients coming to us for help were unaware that many factors beyond their or the roadway’s control can contribute to tire failure. Tire accidents can be due to a recent repair, replacement job, or manufacturing defect. Trained professionals need to recover what’s left of the tire so a thorough investigation of why the tire failed can start.

When a tire technician installs the incorrect size or improperly installs tires on a vehicle, the maintenance shop may have liability if their mistake causes serious injury or death. The same goes for manufacturing defects.

Manufacturers are responsible for producing tires with the highest standard of safety. Sometimes, due to a manufacturer’s attempt to cut costs, tires with poor craftsmanship make it to the public. Tires can also have a design flaw that makes them more susceptible to a devastating wreck. Manufacturers must be held responsible when their faulty products cause serious injuries or deaths.

An investigation by trained professionals will help determine exactly what went wrong here and ensure the injured motorists receive the help and answers they need.

Those wishing to learn more about tire defects and related accidents can find relevant information in our Tire Defect book, written to help attorneys and consumers understand this serious issue.
