Thoughts on Tire Blowouts
Tire blowouts are scary and dangerous: they can happen anytime, anywhere, and without warning. What makes these incidents even more frightening is that tire failure occurs many times without any fault of the driver. This is why after a tire blowout like the one that tragically took Mr. Cummings’ life happens, it must be determined why the tire failed. Trained professionals and their team will take the tire in question and examine it thoroughly to see whether a poor maintenance shop, manufacturer defect, or another reason caused the blowout. If trained professionals determine a repair or defective tire caused tire failure, the negligent party should be held accountable for this crash.
Car owners, vigilant about safety, take their tires for maintenance regularly. However, there are times when the job that should protect motorists on the roadways harms them. We have handled cases where repair shop technicians installed the incorrect size of tires or installed the tires incorrectly, causing serious injuries or death on the roadways. The maintenance shop can be held accountable for its negligent actions whenever this happens.
We have also handled many cases where a defective tire made its way to the driving public. Some manufacturers try to cut production costs, resulting in an inferior tire made with poor craftsmanship. Other times, a defect comes from a flawed design. Either way, these tires should never reach the roadways since they are a deadly accident waiting to happen. When these tires cause serious injuries or deaths, the manufacturing company must be held accountable for their defective product.
If any wrongdoers contributed to the passing of Mr. Cummings’, I hope his family receives the justice they so rightfully deserve.
