Thoughts on Truck Accident That Caused Pedestrian to Lose His Life
Driving into a closed construction zone. Ignoring multiple traffic control devices. Hitting a Ford Ranger. Striking and killing a pedestrian. So many broken road rules and the tragic death of an innocent pedestrian. This accident needs a thorough investigation to determine what caused the truck operator to drive in such a negligent manner and to see if any other factors or parties may also carry partial blame for this terrible incident.
An investigation will help give insight into the trucking company’s hiring practices and safe driving procedures. It will answer questions like whether the company reviews safety standards periodically to remind its drivers how to drive safely, vets its drivers through careful screening measures in the hiring process, and conducts background checks on the driver to see if he suffered from repeated traffic violations.
Keep in mind that sometimes accidents happen that are beyond the driver’s control. For one, mechanical issues can also cause truck accidents. If the driver suffered a mechanical problem, an investigation would show if it was caused by poor truck maintenance or a recent repair. If this is the case, the trucking company or a third-party maintenance shop may also carry some fault in this accident.
Trained professionals will need to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the surviving family receives the answers and justice they are entitled to for the innocent death of their loved one.
