Thoughts on Fatal Ford Rollover Accidents
This young man’s death leaves unanswered questions. Did the vehicle he was traveling in provide him sufficient protection during the rollover accident? The answer to this question will determine whether the manufacturer is liable for his passing.
Rollover accidents are common occurrences on our roadways. They are also very dangerous. Manufacturers have spent significant amounts of time and energy to reduce the likelihood of injury or death in this type of collision. Governmental agencies have also sought to solve this issue by promulgating industry standards that manufacturers must follow to help protect motorists from being crushed during a rollover accident.
However, despite these advancements, manufacturers still produce vehicles that are dangerously defective. This simply means they produce vehicles with roofs that collapse during a rollover. This is unacceptable.
An examination of the crash site along with the truck needs to be conducted by trained professionals to determine if the design of the roof on the Ford truck provided sufficient protection to this young man.
If the vehicle proves defective, Ford should be held financially responsible for the pain and suffering caused to this family. While monetary compensation will do nothing to bring this young man back, it is the only relief the law can provide and leads to safer vehicles on our roadways.
