Thoughts on workplace accidents

Electrical hazards cause 4,000 worker injuries each year (CDC’s NIOSH). This is unacceptable, and we must do more to protect our workers.

Many factors can contribute to electrocutions on the job. Companies must ensure their workers are adequately trained in electrical wiring, that all electrical equipment is properly grounded or double-insulated, and extension and power cords are examined for signs of wear and tear. This is just the minimum of what needs to happen to help prevent electrical accidents. When companies fail to provide their workers with the tools to do their jobs safely, they should be held accountable when someone gets hurt. Those injured on the job deserve fair and just compensation for the injuries and suffering they experience.

Concerning this incident, If any negligence or wrongdoing contributed to this worker getting electrocuted, the injured employee deserves answers.
