Detroit Man Struck and Killed by Loose Tire on Interstate 94 in Washtenaw County, Michigan

Washtenaw County, Mich. – One man died after a tire dislodged from another car and struck his vehicle. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 94 in Washtenaw County.

According to state police reports, a Black Dodge Journey was traveling westbound when the driver’s front side tire detached. The loose tire crossed the median and collided with an eastbound Chevy Malibu.

The driver of the Malibu died when the tire hit the windshield and roof of the car, causing the roof to collapse and striking his head.

Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
