Scheracon Roberts Brown and Son Seriously Injured After a  Dump Truck Tire Blowout Causes a Fiery Rollover Accident


Prince George County, Maryland — Four people suffered injuries after a dump truck caught fire after experiencing a tire blowout. The incident happened on Interstate 495.

According to reports, the dump truck was traveling northbound when its tire blew out. The truck veered to the southbound lanes, careened into an overturn, and became engulfed in flames.

An SUV navigating the southbound stretch of I-495 attempted to evade the oncoming dump truck and overturned.

Emergency personnel transported the dump truck driver and a passenger to MedStar Health: Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center for treatment.

The SUV driver and a passenger were also transported to the hospital.

No further details have been provided.

The tire needs to be inspected to determine if it is defective

No one deserves to go through a horrific accident like this one. Tire blowouts are sudden and dangerous, causing even the most experienced driver to lose control of their vehicle. When a blowout causes a catastrophic crash, like the one on I-495, trained professionals need to examine the tire to determine what caused it to fail. If the tire failed due to a defect, then the manufacturer of the tire should be held at least partially responsible for the injuries suffered in this crash.
