One Person Injured in a Rollover Crash in Dexter, Kentucky

Dexter, Kentucky — One Person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a rollover accident. The incident took place Wednesday morning in the 2300 block of Green Valley Road.

First responders found an SUV rolled onto its driver’s side and had to extricate the trapped occupant through the back of the vehicle. A broken utility pole and electrical lines that were down surrounded the SUV.

Thoughts on rollover accidents

Considering how deadly these crashes are, it is always a sigh of relief when someone survives a rollover. However, just because the injured survived this accident doesn’t mean they are out of the woods. Rollovers often cause serious injuries that linger long after the crash, affecting a person’s quality of life and well-being.

In many rollovers, the vehicle’s make can determine the extent of injuries sustained. This is because some models of SUVs and trucks have defects that make them vulnerable during a rollover. When vehicles with defects cause harm, the manufacturer shares the fault and should be held accountable.

Common defects in these vehicles are malfunctioning seatbelts, airbags that fail to deploy, and roofs that collapse upon impact, crushing and trapping occupants. These defects can lead to a range of serious injuries.

Regarding this incident, trained experts can assess the SUV to determine if any defects contributed to the injuries sustained. If defects are found, the manufacturer should be held accountable for the harm caused to the occupant.

We wish the injured a swift recovery.
