One Person Killed and Two Others Suffered Critical Injuries in a Multi-vehicle Accident Involving a Semi-truck on I-80/94 in Lake County, Indiana

Lake County, Indiana – One person died, and two others suffered critical injuries in a multi-vehicle collision. The incident happened at the Columbia Avenue overpass interstate, between Calumet Avenue and Indianapolis Boulevard.

According to reports, traffic began to slow down when a semi-truck traveling at a high speed rear-ended a Kia Sorento SUV. The collision caused the Kia to propel underneath the semi-truck trailer in front of the vehicle.

A passenger in the Kia died, while the driver and another passenger sustained critical injuries.

No further details have been provided.

The surviving family and those injured deserve justice for the wrongs they have suffered

Driving too fast in slowed traffic is unacceptable. Truckers know they should adjust their speed for current traffic conditions. When truck drivers decide to ignore these safety protocols, and someone dies or is seriously hurt, the trucker needs to be held accountable.

The deceased’s surviving family and those injured deserve justice and compensation for the immeasurable pain and loss that has been inflicted upon them.
