Mason Neises and Josh Mason Killed in a Sanitation Plant Accident in Bromley, Kentucky

Bromley, Kentucky – Two contractors lost their lives on Thursday at a sanitation plant, where the men became trapped in a culvert or tank. The tank processes 70 million gallons of raw sewage from several Northern Kentucky towns along the Ohio River.

According to reports, the men were working near a large pipe when a plug came loose, leading to an influx of sewer water and trapping the men. The tank was full of water, so responders had to get some vac trucks and try to lower the water to tell the men’s locations.

Mason Neises, 23, of Alexandria, Kentucky, and Josh Mason, 26, of Moscow, Ohio, died on scene. A third worker managed to escape, using ropes or extension cords, and sought medical attention.

Building Crafts, Inc. employed the contractors.

Thoughts on job site fatal accidents

Somewhere along the line, someone made a mistake and failed these two workers who lost their lives. It is now up to a thorough investigation to bring the family of these two young men answers and justice. An investigation will examine whether the company, upper leadership, and other on-site individuals implemented and followed safety procedures. Also, if any malfunctioning equipment caused this terrible accident, third parties will need to give an account to the families.

Those responsible for this fatal accident will seek to avoid liability at all costs. This is unfair and unjust. While nothing will bring these two men back to life, action needs to be taken to ensure the families of the deceased receive the answers and justice they deserve.
