One Person Died, and Others were Seriously Injured in a Head-On Accident with a Semi-Truck on  Bigelow Gulch Road in Spokane, Washington

 Spokane, Washington – A head-on collision between a semi-truck and a sedan on Bigelow Gulch Road claimed one life and left four others injured. The incident took place Wednesday morning.

According to initial reports,  a semi-truck with two occupants was heading west when it crossed over the center line and collided with an Acura with three people inside.

One person traveling in the Acura has passed away due to their injuries. Two other occupants are in serious condition.

The two adults traveling in the semi-truck also required hospitalization.

Preliminary reports suggest that speed and road conditions played significant roles in the crash.

Thoughts on speeding semi-trucks and the dangers they pose

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Administration, 4,7666 people died in a semi-truck accident in 2022. Truck drivers and trucking companies have to do better to help decrease the amounts of deaths on our roadways.

Preliminary reports indicate that speed and road conditions contributed to the crash. Truck drivers are responsible for operating their vehicles at safe speeds and according to road conditions. When they fail to do so, they place other motorists at risk, leading to devastating consequences like the fatal accident on Bigelow Gulch Road.
