Wesley Chapel, Florida – A man lost his life when the vehicle he was traveling in struck a tree. The incident happened Saturday afternoon on I-75 in Wesley Chapel.
According to reports, the Honda Accord was traveling northbound when it experienced tire failure. The driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadway, and hit a tree.
The driver died from his injuries at a local hospital.
The Cause of the Tire Failure is Very Important to Those Affected by this Crash
Somewhere along the way, someone failed to keep this tire safely functioning. While people often assume the vehicle’s owner is responsible for a tire failing, this is not always the case. Many times, a faulty repair or a defect can cause a tire to malfunction and serious injuries or death to follow. When this happens, those responsible for the catastrophic incident need to be held accountable to ensure this does not happen again.
As tire defect lawyers, we handle cases nationwide where a tire failed because it was defective. This happens far more often than people realize. This is unacceptable. When tires are defective, the motorists have no idea until after the tire fails.
This is because defects are present at the time the tire is manufactured. It could be as simple as dust or air being trapped between layers of bonded rubber. Or it could be due to the tire builder not aligning the layers properly, weakening the tire.
Whatever the reason, when a tire fails because of a defect in the manufacturing process, the innocent motorist and the surviving family deserve answers and justice from the manufacturer.
This tire will need to be inspected by trained professionals who can determine what caused its failure. During the investigation process, the family will receive answers as to what happened and if there is anything that can be done about it. If the tire proves defective, they can hold the manufacturer responsible and help ensure similar accidents such as this one are prevented in the future.
I wish the best for all affected here. This is a tragedy that no one should have to suffer.
