Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Being Hit by a Semi-truck at the intersection of NW 10th Street and Hickman Road in Waukee, Iowa

Waukee, Iowa — A bicyclist sustained serious injuries following a collision with a semi-truck. The incident happened Friday afternoon at NW 10th Street and Hickman Road intersection.

According to authorities, the semi-truck was at the stoplight and initiated a westward turn onto Hickman Road when the light turned green. At the same time, a bicyclist was crossing the intersection, heading eastbound, when the semi-truck driver failed to spot the bicyclist and collided with them.

The bicyclist suffered severe injuries, and emergency personnel transported them to the hospital.
