One Person Injured After a Semi-truck Crashed into Their Pickup truck on Interstate 10 in Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix, AZ—A pickup truck caught fire after colliding with a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near 67th Avenue. The incident happened Wednesday night.

According to authorities, the pickup truck had stopped on the freeway due to a mechanical issue. The driver activated the emergency lights; however, a semi-truck driver failed to notice the stationary pickup and collided with it, causing the pickup to catch fire. The truck became engulfed in flames, and fire responders were there to subdue them.

First responders transported the pickup truck driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No further details have been provided.

Thoughts on semi-truck rear-end collisions

Terrible. It’s frightening enough to have your truck break down in the middle of the freeway, but to also have a semi-truck slam into you is any motorist’s worst nightmare.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver as we are left with unanswered questions.

We need to know what type of mechanical issue the pickup truck suffered. Was it a recurring problem that a repair shop failed to fix correctly? Why did the trucker fail to stop in time? Was this driver error a one-time occurrence, or did the trucking company hire a driver with a history of repeated traffic violations? Finding the answers to these questions can help determine all parties at fault who should be held accountable for the harm caused to the pickup driver.

May all the factors that led to this fiery collision come to light soon so justice can be served.
