One Person Injured in a Semi-truck Accident Along Highway 21 Near Kurten, Brazos, Texas

Brazos County, Texas — One person was hospitalized after an 18-wheeler failed to yield the right of way. The incident happened Friday morning near Kurten along Highway 21.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a pickup truck driver sustained incapacitating injuries after an 18-wheeler pulled out from a private driveway, failing to yield.

No further details have been provided at this time.

Thoughts of semi-trucks that fail to yield

What a terrible accident. Truck drivers must always keep in mind their massive size and weight compared to passenger vehicles and remember the harm they can cause when they forget to follow basic safety road rules. In situations where trucks must give the right of way,  or yield, (like pulling out of a driveway), truckers must check mirrors constantly and pay attention to the space around them before they proceed, especially in low visibility spaces. When truckers fail to do this, and their actions cause severe harm to others, they must be held accountable.

To determine if negligent actions caused the factors leading to this accident, trained professionals will need to conduct an investigation. With this information, all wrongdoers can be held accountable and those injured can receive the compensation they need to recover.

Our thoughts are with the injured. May they have a swift, full recovery and receive the justice they deserve.
