Vincent Rawa was Hurt when a Tire dislodged off a Semi-truck on Interstate 80 Near Danville, Pennsylvania

Danville, Pa. – A man was injured when a tire dislodged from a tractor-trailer and hit his windshield on Interstate 80.

According to reports, Vincent Rawa III was traveling eastbound on I-80  when a tire dislodged from a tractor-trailer and hit Rawa’s windshield. The tire disabled Rawa’s steering wheel, leading the vehicle to veer off the road and collide with a group of trees.

Emergency responders transported Rawa to Geisinger Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Further details have not been released.

Trucking company and driver are responsible for keeping tires properly secured and fastened

We are handling several accidents just like this one across the country. In Illinois, a tire dislodged and bounced across the median into oncoming traffic, killing our driver. In another, here in Texas, a tire dislodged and crashed through our client’s windshield, killing him on impact.

Trucking companies must take every step possible to ensure tires are properly secured. A loose tire is a serious risk to passing motorists and is completely unacceptable. The trucking company and driver here are directly responsible for ensuring tires are properly secured and maintained. It must be determined why that did not happen here.
