Thoughts on SUVs and rollovers

What a terrible accident. Sadly, we have seen these types of crashes with SUVs result in death over and over again. We know and understand the downside of SUVs — their vulnerability to rollovers and defects in their safety features.

Some SUVs may fail to respond adequately during hard braking or steering maneuvers, leading to losing control and setting a rollover sequence into motion. This is considered a defect that should not happen. Rollover accidents can lead to severe injuries, especially if safety features like seatbelts or airbags fail to function properly. Defects such as collapsing roofs or malfunctioning restraint systems can cause occupants further injuries than the rollover itself. While the news release doesn’t mention any vehicle defects, it’s important to investigate whether this SUV had any defects that would cause the deceased more injuries.

It’s essential to understand what caused the rollover and if the vehicle failed to protect the deceased driver. Trained professionals can inspect the SUV to determine if any safety features failed during the crash. If a defect played a role in this death, the SUV manufacturer should be held accountable.

The surviving family deserves answers and justice for any wrongdoing that may have resulted in this loss of life.
