One Person Injured After Collision with a Parked Semi-truck on I-690 in Syracuse, N.Y.

Syracuse, N.Y. — A person suffered injuries when the car they were traveling in struck a semi-truck parked on the side of the highway.

The driver of the vehicle has been transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.

No further updates have been provided.

Thoughts on accidents with parked semi-trucks

Regulations under The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) state that commercial trucks should only park on the side of the highway in case of emergencies; unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. The question here is why the trucker went against safety protocols and parked their truck on the highway, creating a hazard and causing harm.

If a detailed investigation determines that the trucker was negligent in parking a semi-truck next to a moving lane of traffic, the injured deserve an answer and justice. This includes compensation for the harm they have suffered as a result of the collision.

May those affected here receive the help and support they need in the wake of this horrific crash.
