The Ammons Law Firm Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Discount Tire and General Motors (GM) for Woman Killed in New Mexico Crash

Santa Fe County, New Mexico – The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the family of a woman tragically killed in a rollover crash in New Mexico. The lawsuit, filed in Santa Fe County, seeks justice for a young woman who was traveling as a passenger in a 2002 Chevy S10 when an unexpected tire failure caused the vehicle to roll over.
The case involves several factors that contributed to the crash, including negligent actions by Discount Tire and issues surrounding the crashworthiness of the Chevy S10.

The first cause of action targets Discount Tire, alleging negligence in its installation of two new tires on the front of the Chevy S10, contrary to their own safety recommendations. Despite Discount Tire’s policy advising the placement of new tires on the rear axle for improved vehicle stability, the failure to adhere to this standard allegedly resulted in the driver losing control and rolling the vehicle after the tire failed.

The second cause of action is directed at General Motors, alleging issues with the design and manufacturing of the Subject Truck failed to protect the young woman during the rollover sequence. Despite being properly restrained, the seatbelt in the S10 failed to restrain, and the young woman was partially ejected. This caused the vehicle to roll over her, causing her death.
