Thoughts on tire blowouts

Hearing a loud boom and losing control of your vehicle while driving can be one of the scariest experiences a motorist can go through. When tires blow out or fail, and people get hurt, an investigation must occur to determine what went wrong so we can minimize these types of crashes from happening again.

Tires can fail for a number of reasons. Sometimes, tires fail because of a manufacturing defect. This means a tire had a faulty design or left the manufacturer poorly constructed, making it a hazard to drive on the road. Defective designs are difficult to detect and mainly go unnoticed until a horrible accident happens. Manufacturers should be held responsible when a faulty tire leaves their hands and causes harm to motorists on our roadways.

Some tire failures stem from improper repair procedures or tires unsuitable for the vehicle they’re mounted on. When we entrust our tires to undergo routine maintenance, we anticipate the shop to install appropriate tires, ensuring our safety on the road. However, there are instances where repair shops may negligently install tires or inadequately address repairs. Such oversights can result in catastrophic accidents, and tire repair shops should be held accountable in such cases.

This accident requires a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the tire failure and crash. If the blowout occurred due to factors beyond the control of those involved, it is important to hold accountable those responsible for the crash for the sake of the injured and all they have endured.

May the person injured continue to make a swift recovery.
