Two People Killed on I-35 in Gainesville, Texas After an Accident with a Disabled Semitruck

Gainesville, Texas – A collision with a semi-truck on Tuesday morning on I-35 claimed the lives of two individuals.

According to reports, a car collided with a disabled semi-truck in the right northbound lane that had been stationed there after being involved in a previous crash.

The driver and passenger of the car were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No one was inside the semi-truck at the time of the collision.

Thoughts on disabled trucks on the roadways

While we wait for all the facts to come out, one thing remains clear: the right lane is no place to leave a disabled vehicle.

Leaving a disabled vehicle in a travel lane, especially on a busy highway, is hazardous. Key questions arise from this tragedy. What caused the original accident? Were proper safety measures, such as warning signals, implemented to alert approaching vehicles of the accident? How long had the truck been in the lane? Answers to these questions will shed light on whether negligence or other factors contributed to the loss of two lives.

The families of the deceased deserve full transparency and accountability for any wrongdoing that led to the death of their loved ones.

We have handled these cases many times in the past, and there is almost never a justifiable reason for this to happen. While we await the facts, let us extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
