Tyler Whitmire and Two Others Critically Injured in Accident with a Parked Bucket Truck on U.S. Highway 96 in Jasper County, Texas


Jasper County, Texas — A crash on U.S. Highway 96 near County Road 440 resulted in critical injuries for the two drivers involved. According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

It is believed the accident happened when the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado failed to stay within a single lane and collided with the rear of a parked GMC tree bucket truck. The bucket truck was parked on the north shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as 29-year-old Tyler Whitmire. Whitmire sustained life-threatening injuries, and emergency personnel transported him to CHRISTUS for immediate medical care.

The driver of the Bucket Truck sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Additionally, emergency responders took two passengers traveling with Denby to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
